We got down to the creek, which wasn't flowing much at all, and Tony, Matt, and Carter got in the water to fishwhile Gage, Owen, and I hung out on the sheet on the bank.
Gage enjoyed pulling leaves off of the weeds around us and Owen was the bug police (BUG!!!!). He was using the bug gun to "shoot" the fish the big boys were catching and the weeds...and the rocks...and his daddy ("DADDAAAAAYYYYY!!!!!!!!" You crazy!"), and 1 big black ant.
The big boys caught several of the little big-mouth bream that are in our creek, and Carter caught the biggest one of the day! Way to go Carter!
Matt was on crawdad patrol
Then it was time for a little rock- skipping ( or just throwing) and some playing in the water.
The little boys loved it and I think their daddies had a little fun, too. There's no "dis"ability in these 2 little firecrackers!
And we had to get some family pictures in God's beautiful creation.
Then it was time to go back "up top". The hike back up was longer than the one down. Funny how that happens! I think Owen and Gage weighed 10lbs more with their water-logged diapers than on the way down. We all got back to the house, bathed, de-ticked, and rested for a while. We put the 2 crawdads Matt caught (HUGE) in the fish tank, where they remain active as I type this. We ended the day with a yummy fish fry dinner (although not the ones they caught in the creek!) and the B's went home. It was so refreshing to be outside doing something fun with good friends. I love where we live!
