Welcome to our little space on the net! This blog is just about our family life, and began as a way to keep family and friends updated on what was going on with my pregnancy with our first son, Gage. We've since added Evie to our family, and I continue to blog about family life, car seats, spina bifida, and anything else that catches my attention.

Urology appt

Yes, I'm still pregnant. That ticker at the top of the page is taunting me!

Gage's urology appointment went really well. We were in there with some friends so waiting wasn't as bad as usual. Basically, everything is the same! He has no kidney reflux, pressures are nowhere near causing reflux. We talked about bowel management a little and got some tips on controlling that. Those who see us regularly might have to bear with us a little with Gage and stinkiness....we've got several months of "rehab" to do in that area and it might be a stinky process. We got to see Dr. R, the doc that has flown in on the weekends to see kids at ACH since before Gage was born. It will be the last clinic visit with him. We were unable to meet the new guy because he had an emergency on the floor to tend to, but we are told that we will like him. Dr. R said several times that if we EVER needed a 2nd opinion or anything, to please call him. He will be coming to ACH for surgeries and such, so he's not really gone for good, but we'll still miss him.

On a similar note, Gage asked to go to the potty twice today. I'm not sure if it's because he knows he has to go or he just thought of it and decided to ask, but either way, I'm going to take him when he asks. The first time was at breakfast. The second time was during Bible class this morning. He has moved up to the "big boy class" and hasn't been real happy about it, but the teacher said he was happy and participating when he asked. Tony took him and he went, so maybe....

That baby will get out of their soon. Maybe you guys just got the "date" wrong by a few days. Doctors mess up a lot you know!
