Welcome to our little space on the net! This blog is just about our family life, and began as a way to keep family and friends updated on what was going on with my pregnancy with our first son, Gage. We've since added Evie to our family, and I continue to blog about family life, car seats, spina bifida, and anything else that catches my attention.

Evie 8 Months Old!

(and a half)

So I'm a little late on her 8 month update. It still counts. I picked a bad time to take her pictures this month. She wasn't in the best mood to start with, so I'm lucky I even got the tiger picture without tears.

Evie is crawling. She is all over the place. She follows me around the house. She can also get to any cord she wants. This is not good. She loves cords and it is truly impossible to get all of them out of her reach. This has become our first "no-no" and she does not find it very amusing.

She has decided that she is mildly interested in eating solid food. She will tolerate sweet potato fries and Cheerios. She'll eat a little baby food, but still usually turns her head if she sees a spoon. She much prefers to feed herself, although most of it ends up in the chair. Katie is a fat, happy puppy dog these days. She likes to play with sippy cups, but doesn't really drink from one. She just usually takes Gage's out of the cup holder in the car so he can't reach it. I still need to get her some soft spout ones. I put some water in a bottle and she liked that okay. I've been really laid back with feeding her. I know it is just for practice at this point and I figure she'll eat when she's ready.

Evie has 6 teeth now- 4 on top and 2 on the bottom. She got them all in quick succession. Her amber teething necklace seems to have worked for her because it really wasn't all that bad. Even it if wasn't the necklace, I think it's cute. It came from Inspired By Finn and she is always running sales and coupon codes anybody wants one.

For the last couple of weeks, Evie has been waking up between 4:30 and 6am to nurse, but goes right back to sleep. I'm guessing it's a growth spurt. Otherwise, she sleeps for 3 or more hours in the afternoon, and 10-11 hours at night.

Overall, she is a very happy, smiley baby girl. She loves being out and about and smiles at anyone that will talk to her. We have been to 2 UCA football games with her, and she was awesome at both.

Today we went to the Little Rock Zoo. Gage loved seeing the animals. Evie just loved riding in the stroller. It was overcast, although still muggy, but we had a good time.

Next up: the weddings- Erin and Steve (9-11-10) and Reid and Erin (10-2-11).
