Welcome to our little space on the net! This blog is just about our family life, and began as a way to keep family and friends updated on what was going on with my pregnancy with our first son, Gage. We've since added Evie to our family, and I continue to blog about family life, car seats, spina bifida, and anything else that catches my attention.

Gage's surgery scheduled

It will be Jan 14th (the day after Evie's brithday) at LeBonheur in Memphis. We have to be there at 6am, but I'm not yet sure when the actual procedure will start. The surgeon will tap the shunt first and see if it is working. If it's not, he will replace or reposition the shunt. If it is, and he sees no reason it would be causing the cyst, then he will do the laminectomy and cut the cyst out. We have asked if he will aspirate the cyst to get the pressure off of his cord earlier, but we don't know yet if that is possible.

We appreciate everyone's prayers for Gage and our family!! I will update here and Facebook as I can from the hospital.
